  The poor ministry

This ministry started in year 2002. It is truly an amazing ministry, with a tangible heart of God in the people who help the poor.  This kind of ministry really moves one's heart.  Eric Eatwell is called of God and skillfully works amongst these incapacitated people on a daily basis.  Teams who help him vary.

Allen Wilson Ministries Head Office has a fund which feeds, clothes and uplifts the poorest of the poor in Molteno.  Donations are received from members of Churchnet Molteno local church and at times from other relating churches and are distributed to the poorest of the poor.  Whenever possible we supply wood or paraffin, as Molteno experiences 3 months of sub-zero temperatures.

We also have a soft touch towards the children by giving them sweets and occasionally toys. It’s sad to think that one sweet to them is like a holiday to our children.  We uplift their lives and that's what makes the difference.

Personal vehicles have been donated for this cause. Eric being a  renowned artist, who is a potential millionaire over and over again, pours his finances into these people. Nine out of ten he puts the poor above his own needs.

Eric is a true shepherd to these people, pastoring and giving them hope of a better life through the gospel. Many lives have changed forever. He quotes, “It’s amazing, the minute we start feeding a household and giving them hope. What was a grey shell becomes a home over night. Their standard of living increases. They aquire  household appliances, amazing stuff that’s beyond our capacity to do for them.”

To quote one of our pastors, Ingrid;  "I myself haven’t been to the poor since they began the ministry.  I went recently it’s so noticeable that…THE POOR DON’T LOOK POOR ANYMORE.”

In the early days of feeding, most of the children didn’t have clothes on. They were dirty, scruffy and undernourished. The people also looked lifeless. It was hard on one's emotions. We made a point of targeting the poorest of the poor. They now, after six years are looking normal.  There is such a happy vibe amongst them, the children have fattened up, are beautifully dressed. An amazing thing has happened.

It's our plan in time to extend the upliftment and preaching to the poor wherever Allen Wilson Ministries reaches.

A local church in a prison

                    by Carol Gregory

Jesus called me to minister to prisoners with the following words: “I was in prison and you visited me.”

I realized, as the pastor of the local East London church, that the prisoner was the only sector of the community that could not get to church and receive this amazing end time salvation. So Jesus called me to visit them preaching Allen’s word of the hour and to pastor them, as I do the local East London church. So began my ministry in September 2006, to the women in the Fort Glarmorgan prison in East London.

I have been visiting them faithfully every Tuesday for almost 3 years. At first it was just a few. I am now reaching more than 50% of the prison with about 80 women attending my meetings. In March this year God added another flock from the Port Elizabeth prison.

Shortly after I started this work, God spoke to Margaret Pretorious to help me in leading the praise and worship on her guitar. She also helps me in many other ways as we go where their feet cannot go, reaching family members and their everyday needs.

As I have ministered to them through the message preached and personal pastoring, they have learnt to trust the goodness of God who never judges them but has mercy on them, so that He can bless them. Their sins have been washed, their bodies healed, their needs met, and many have new hope and have dared to dream again.

There are many testimonies, a woman suffering from severe depression because of the circumstances related to her sentence. Today she is studying for a Law Diploma in prison, trusting God to give her, her dreams despite being in prison.

Many were plagued with guilt and condemnation for the crimes they had committed. I have seen faith rise in many as they have forgiven themselves having experienced His mercy towards them, personally setting them free to forgive others.

The greatest need amongst the prisoners is their children from whom they have been separated because of their crimes. Some children lose hope in ever having their mothers home again and are often alone or in the hands of uncaring relatives. God has intervened in  marvellous ways.

Some started doing bead work which God provided a market for. They now have funds for their studies. There dreams are coming to pass. There was a lady bedridden with Elephantiasis. When I saw her condition the compassion of Christ came on me. As I prayed for her I knew that Jesus had touched her. I was so happy to see her walk into my meeting 2 weeks later beaming with gratitude to God for the improvement in her body.

There are many who have been set free in their hearts, who were abused and resorted to crime because of the abuse.  God has broken the chain of abuse as they have forgiven their perpetrators, setting them free to forgive themselves and breaking the cycle of abuse on their children.

So great has been the rehabilitation in some that their sentences have been shortened and many have been released.   I also put in recommendations to the parole board for early release on behalf of those prisoners who I know and who attend my meetings.   I am also involved in restorative justice whereby relationships are restored that were hurt because of the crimes they committed.

Aftercare - I have been concerned about aftercare. Many are released and don’t have the necessary support to sustain them and so end up committing crimes again. I have been seeking ways to help sustain my work after their release from prison. Many  do not have the support of family or even an address to stay  who need help.

Such a person is Sanet who has just been released, I could see no other way than to offer her a place in my home until she was on her feet. She spent a month in my home, she was warmly received by my family and church who recognized her serious intent to make a new life for herself through her faith in God.

I will never forget the first night of her release – Sanet just sat on our veranda for three hours and drank in the beauty of the forest, not having seen a sun rise for a year and a half!

She battled to find a job, undaunted she began to make fudge in my microwave and then selling it door to door. She has now moved into a caravan at the church and is self supporting even having bought herself a motor cycle recently. She has never been happier. Sanet will be the first of many that will be released from prison into the better world God designed for all of His creation.

At Christmas 2008, the entire women section of Fort Glarmorgan rocked when the popular rock band Southern Gypsey Queen performed a concert for them while local business’ provided Christmas treats for them. The following Christmas, The Descendants Band also blessed them immensely.

Many of the prisoners have received this end time salvation of a living hope and are being counted  amongst “the congregation of the blessing.

"I am encouraged, no matter what crime has incapacitated them. God has placed

me as a shepherd in this local prison and through God’s power I can give them a

new beginning and the hope of a blessed future."

Farm workers ministry in the Karoo

Bart, Zon & Zandre

Bart with his wife Zon & son Zandre

Bart Kruger has never stood out among our other pastors - often just blending into the background.   If, however, you had to look a little closer, you would see a very humble man with a heart that exceeds many others...

Bart studied under Allen through correspondence for a year before moving to Molteno in 1996 in order to be closer to the prophet and to learn more about God’s nature.   In 1998, Bart moved to Colesberg where he helped, and continues to help, Keith - our resident pastor in Colesberg.

It was that year that Bart’s life would change forever - starting with one farm and a mere 25 people…

11 years later, Bart has more members than any of our other relating churches. He ministers to +-1500 people, on over 20 farms, covering 6800kms—every single week! Over and above that, he still manages to help Keith every Sunday in Colesberg and Bloemfontein.

Even though he has nearly completely worn out his own personal car, he diligently presses on, week after week - knowing that God will provide him with a vehicle that is more suitable for the job.

God has also done some amazing miracles through Bart, including a man named Pirkaai who was born deaf and dumb. After Bart laid hands on him, Pirkaai was able to hear and his speech is improving every day.

Also among the many healings was Tonkie, a man who tried to commit suicide by drinking pool acid. Besides being healed, Tonkie has found hope and a reason to live in the word that Bart ministers to him.

Bart has truly proved himself to be a mighty, called man of God, and God will continue to work through him to save many lives.

what a man - what a heart

P.S.  Bart has recently been given a double cab 4×4 bakkie. The farmers whose workers he ministers to every week have seen such a difference in their staff that they clubbed  together to buy him the vehicle.
